How well an air purifier work in a baby room to control dust?
Since we have an old carpeted fllor it holds an awful lot of dust. I am thinking of purchasing an air ionizer since I hate my baby to inhale all that dirt.
Have you ever tried one and how well it works to control dust? Is it noisey? What type of air ionizer would best meet my needs.
Thanks in advance..
What You Should Know About Breeze Air Purifiers
If you base your buying decisions on how much you see a product being advertised, then when you are in the market for a home air ionizer, you'll probably be tempted to buy the Ionic Breeze Air Purifier. This air ionizer has been heavily marketed by Sharper Image as an important breakthrough in air purification systems.
It used to be that air ionizers were mainly used in stuffy, smelly, smoky spaces. Recently however, as homes have become better sealed against weather for energy efficiency purposes, home air ionizer sales have skyrocketed, thanks in part to the massive marketing efforts of Sharper Image in promoting their Ionic Breeze Air purifiers.
While most air ionizers on the market have been HEPA air cleaners, activated charcoal, or a combination of both, the technology behind the Ionic Breeze Air system takes a different approach to air purification. These units are actually electrostatic precipitators which clean the air by collecting airborne irritants, contaminants and allergens in the atmosphere of your home. It accomplishes this not with filters, as other air cleaners do, but by electrostatically charging the particles in the air, which are then attracted to charged collecting plates.
This process allows for even the smallest particulate material to be removed from the air, making the air you breathe in your home much more clean and healthy. Often, these small contaminants are just too small to be collected with traditional filtering processes. As well, with the improvements in air tightness of homes, the allergens and pollutants become trapped inside the home, leading to a significant rise in allergies and asthma. The Ionic Breeze Air purifiers can help to drastically reduce the build up of indoor air pollution and reduce health concerns.
Another unique feature of the Ionic Breeze Air is that it does not use traditional fans to move air through the unit, but uses what the Sharper Image calls the "Zenion Effect", which is a totally electronic method of drawing air in and through their room air ionizers. This makes them significantly quieter than other air ionizers that rely on noisy fans to bring the air into the filters.
Since there are also no moving parts, there is less likelihood of a breakdown. Without the need to power a fan, the Ionic Breeze Air machines are also more energy efficient and this makes them much cheaper to operate than competing room air cleaners. Even though the Sharper Image air ionizer ionizer systems are more expensive to purchase, there are no filters to be replaced. So, over the course of years of operation, these high-tech air ionizers will save you a significant amount of money, both in lower electric bills and in filter replacement savings.
The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers are also very easy to maintain, with the only requirement being to occasionally remove the collector plates and wipe them down to remove the trapped particulates. If you are looking for cost effective and energy efficient home air cleaners, then this option is worth a closer look as you comparison shop.
