What is Hepa in an Air Purifier

An air purifier is an appliance used for cleaning air indoors and they are used in homes, commercial buildings, industrial workplaces etc. The application of air purifiers is usually in places which tend to have unhealthy air due to pets, molds, pollutants, smoke or industrial work, hazardous materials etc. Air purifiers are also popular in homes of allergic people and asthmatics who wish to keep the air healthy in their homes. They are also popular due to the fact that the air inside homes is less healthy than the air outside.
Since people spend a significant amount of time indoors having an air purifier is healthy.

Allergic applications

Air purifiers are most popular for asthmatics and allergic people and they work by keeping allergens and triggers out of the air in homes. Allergens or triggers can be dust, pollen, mold spores, fungus, pet hair, smoke particles, airborne gases etc.

Functioning

Air purifiers employ various techniques for air purification like absorbents, ionizers, mechanical filters etc. Absorbents can be in the form of activated charcoal and ionizers can be in the form of electrostatic chargers. Some air purifiers have additional systems like germ killing UV light, ionizer for neutralizing contaminants.

HEPA filters

HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air. HEPA filters are very popular for air purifiers. Before being designated as HEPA, air purifiers must meet very stringent requirements as laid down by the Department of Energy. HEPA filters should remove at least 99.97 % of air borne particles of 0.3 micron size at 85 liters per minute rate. However HEPA filters are very expensive and replacing the filter in the purifier may cost as much as the purifier itself. Further HEPA filters cannot remove gases or odors from the air. For removing gases absorbent type of air purifiers are suitable.

Ozone

Some Ionic air purifiers produce ozone in the delivered air. Ozone can be dangerous at higher concentration, which is the cause of a controversy. However ionic air purifiers are associated with healthy air environments such as waterfalls, mountains etc, since these places have a negative ion concentration as in ionic air purifiers. An ionic air purifier in conjunction with an air filtration system is suited for most purposes.

What to look for

Customers usually look for aesthetic appeal, noise levels, size of the equipment, frequency of filter replacement, electricity consumption, air delivery rate etc. Most of the filters can be cleaned easily by vacuuming, by water or by hand. The filters may need replacement anywhere between months to a few years depending upon the type of air purifier.

Airsopure Air Purifiers â?? Cutting Edge Air Purification Technology

Did You Know?

The National Safety Council has found that Americans spend roughly 90% of their time indoors and 65% of that time in their homes. Poor air quality has become an increasingly serious problem affecting the lives of the entire population.

Air So Pure â?? â??The Essence of Clean Airâ?

To counter this epidemic of poor air quality, Air So Pure has become one of the leading manufacturers of air purifiers on the market today. As a joint venture between Aurora Wireless Technologies Ltd. and Garfield Industries Inc., this combination of U.S. technology and Asian manufacturing has successfully provided a cost effective solution to the problem of indoor air quality. In addition to manufacturing superior air purifying products, AirSoPure has been working hard and increasing their efforts at educating the public on the dangers of airborne contaminants, the substantial costs associated with this global problem, and the importance of maintaining clean, indoor air. This approach has included collaborating with national and local governments to assist in creating standards for indoor air pollution.

AirSoPure is the only company to offer the revolutionary breakthrough technology of both commercial and household single-phase air filtration systems. Air So Pure PCO incorporates leading-edge photo catalysis and high-efficiency particulate filtration. AirSoPure Photo Catalysis converts most volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other airborne particulates to carbon dioxide and water vapor, rendering them harmless, while at the same time, capturing and destroying 99.3% of biological contaminants in a single pass.

Air So Pure offers a full range of PCO purifiers from small, portable all-in-one units for home-use to centralized systems that can easily fit into new or existing construction. AirSoPure purifiers also effectively provide indoor occupants with comprehensive and thorough protection against indoor air pollutants; e.g., airborne molds, spores, bacteria, viruses, pollen, formaldehyde, combustion by-products, odors, and many toxic gases. AirSoPure PCO is unique in its ability to sterilize and eliminate pollutants, as opposed to merely filtering or collecting them like lesser quality purifiers. In addition, their commercial models have transformed existing blowers and HVAC equipment into air sterilization systems in many hospitals, clinics, elderly homes, and hotels â?? institutions where clean air is absolutely imperative. In order to ensure a high-quality and effective product, all Air So Pure purifiers are fully tested with outstanding efficiency in reducing air borne contaminants and particulates.

The efficiency and effectiveness of these purifiers have been demonstrated and proven throughout the world, including many different countries such as the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. In fact, government agencies such as the United States Postal Service, the United States Department of Defense, school districts, and leading international corporations such as TGI Friday's have all depended on Air So Pure's unparalleled air purification systems.

â?¢ Why choose an AirSoPure Purifier?

â?¢ As an editor's pick for best overall purifier, Air So Pure purifiers are the most advanced air purifiers available on the market for room, office, and home use, removing 99.97% of airborne particles and 99.3% of biological contaminants. In addition, 8 speed options, remote control, motion sensor, and the display/control panel on all units offer control over your air quality.

â?¢ What's unique about Air So Pure Purifiers?

â?¢ Air So Pure uses Photo Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) - advanced technology in air purification developed for the U.S. military. It was first used during the Gulf War in 1991 to protect troops against biological and chemical warfare, and several government agencies, including the United States Department of Defense and the United States Postal Service, which use and recommend these purifiers. AirSoPure has taken this cutting-edge technology to create one of the leading air purifiers available today. You can be assured that an AirSoPure purifier will provide superior protection against airborne biological and chemical decontamination, in addition to particulates such as dirt, dust, and pollen.

â?¢ Which technologies does AirSoPure Use?

â?¢ AirSoPure purifiers utilize six steps to air purification: a 5 micron pre-filter, hospital grade HEPA filter, "Photo-Catalytic Oxidation," gas absorption media, UV light, and ionization.

The AirSoPure MS-980 is an editorâ??s pick for best overall air purifier by Air Purifier Home. Removing 99.97% of airborne particles, this purifier provides the ultimate in air purification for your room, home, or office.

While indoor pollution continues to be a problem, Air So Pure purifiers can help eradicate harmful contaminants from affecting the air you breathe.
