Cleaning Ionic Breeze Blades?

Can I use a Scotch Pad to clean the blades on my Ionic Breeze? I cleaned the blades with the soft part of a sponge, but there is still residue that I can scratch away with my fingernail. I'm just not sure if a Scotch Pad would ruin the functioning of the blades. Thanks.
