Someone Gave Me An Air Purifier. Smelling The Clean Air That Comes Out Actually Hurts My Nose?

For the first few minutes that the air purifier is on, I get a headache and my nose hurts almost like its not used to clean air, which is probably the case. Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks.
