Why will my new thermostat not work the air cond. but the heat works fine.?

My old honeywell thermostat wouldn't work when switched the heat on. So I replaced it with a new Hunter thermostat and now the heat works but the air conditoner won't or the manual fan. wired as R to R, G to G, Y to Y, red wire to rh, black wire to rc. disconected black wire for now just to be safe.
